Chiropractic & Functional Neurology Support for Dysautonomia & POTS
When your nervous system isn’t regulating well, everyday activities can become exhausting. Our goal is to help you better understand your symptoms and provide individualized care that supports nervous system function, movement, and quality of life.
Understanding Dysautonomia & POTS
The autonomic nervous system controls many of the body’s automatic functions—things you don’t have to consciously think about every day. This includes regulating heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, digestion, body temperature, sweating, and even how your body responds when you stand up.
Dysautonomia is a term used to describe conditions where the autonomic nervous system isn’t functioning as it should.
One of the most recognized forms of dysautonomia is Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). People with POTS often experience a significant increase in heart rate when moving from sitting or lying down to standing, along with a variety of other symptoms.
Because the autonomic nervous system influences so many parts of the body, symptoms can look very different from one person to another.
Common Symptoms
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Rapid heart rate when standing
- Feeling faint or episodes of fainting
- Headaches or migraines
- Exercise intolerance
- Chronic fatigue
- Neck pain
- Balance problems
- Digestive concerns
- Nausea
- Sleep disturbances
- Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
- Temperature regulation difficulties
- Excessive sweating or reduced sweating
Why Dysautonomia Can Be So Frustrating
If you’re living with dysautonomia or POTS, you’ve probably experienced days when you feel almost like yourself—and others when even simple activities feel overwhelming. This unpredictability can make it difficult to work, attend school, exercise, or enjoy everyday life.
One of the reasons dysautonomia can be so frustrating is that it affects the autonomic nervous system, which helps regulate many of the body’s automatic functions. When that system isn’t functioning efficiently, symptoms can involve multiple body systems and may change depending on factors like activity level, hydration, sleep, stress, illness, or even changes in temperature.
Many people also live with other conditions, such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), migraines, concussion, chronic pain, or vestibular disorders, which can further influence how they feel from one day to the next.
At Apex Chiropractic & Wellness Center, we understand that your symptoms are real—even if they aren’t always visible. That’s why we take the time to listen, perform a comprehensive evaluation, and develop an individualized care plan that considers the whole person, not just a diagnosis.
How Chiropractic & Functional Neurology May Help
At Apex Chiropractic & Wellness Center, we do not treat or cure dysautonomia or POTS. Our role is to support healthy nervous system function and help address movement, balance, and musculoskeletal factors that may contribute to your symptoms.
Depending on your needs, your care plan may include:

Gentle Chiropractic Care

Functional Neurologic Evaluation

RightEye® Eye Movement Assessment

Rehabilitation Exercises

Lifestyle & Supportive Strategies

Vestibular Rehabilitation
Improving balance, reducing dizziness, and helping the brain process movement more efficiently.
Our Approach at Apex
No two people with dysautonomia experience the exact same symptoms.
That’s why we don’t follow a standardized treatment program.
Instead, every patient receives a comprehensive evaluation designed to better understand how their nervous system is functioning and how their symptoms affect daily life.
Your care plan is tailored to your unique history, examination findings, goals, and response to care.
When appropriate, we work collaboratively with your primary care physician, cardiologist, neurologist, physical therapist, or other healthcare providers to support your overall health.
